Model vs. Final Product

Set constructed by the production assistants of the University of Colorado Boulder Scene Shop

Model is a 1/4” scale model provided by Scenic Designer Bruce Bergner

Antigone was the first show I ever TDed, and the challenge was well worth the outcome. The entire set was based on a 3/4” raked stage, meaning we build a series of raked stud walls to support stock platforms as well as a few unique custom platforms. The columns, the tallest of which was almost 20’ tall, were bolted through the custom deck on smaller counter-raked platforms, and skinned in a corrugated plastic roofing material to eliminate the need for foam carving.
